The majority of us work in an office environment, 40 or more hours a week. At times it feels that we spend more time at work then we do at home.
Our space is small, mostly cubicles and it’s bearable because we do have panels separating us from our neighbors.
Unfortunately it does not block out the annoying co-workers. We get so angry with their annoying habits. We complaint day after day, did you know that is annoying too? It’s not just noises that are annoying but whining is too. Let’s remember this, we need our jobs, we are adults and we have to find a way to get along. Let’s be more conscientious. If we don’t like hearing someone complaint, then lets not do the same.
Cell Phones
Everyone has a cell phone. It is always right on their desk. Many of us have some type of ring tone and they can be annoying. No one wants to hear the theme song to Star Wars over and over again. Be nice, before you walk into the office, place it on vibrate. Everyone will appreciate it.
Private Conversation
You walk by and two co-workers are having a private conversation and you can tell this because they are whispering. Keep walking, unless they invite you into their conversation don’t stop and interrupt. It’s rude and unwelcomed. If it was our conversation, we would not like it either.
Whining
We arrive at the office, put our things away and as many of us do, run and get our coffee. As you walk in, you hear good mornings and notice the co-workers smiling. What can be really annoying are those co-workers that complain or whine about everything. How irritating, it brings everyone down. Keep complaints to a minimum. If something is bothering you, get it resolved or let it go. Don’t make everyone else’s day a living hell.
Fundraisers
How many people in your office have children? Most like over 80% of them do. As soon as school starts we are hounded by every co-worker to purchase something from one of their kids. Funny thing is you might have one of your own. Since you know this will happen, avoid bringing those to work. Don’t force your co-worker into buying or participating in something they don’t want. Also, if they say no, don’t get mad, it’s not their obligation to do so.
Foods
Lunch time rolls around and most of us do eat lunch at our desk. Now remember, these are small, cramped places, avoid bringing in foods that will smell up the office or break room for days. Be considerate. If it stinks up your home when you cook it, it will do the same at the office when you heat it up.
Workload
Everyone has plenty of work to do. The one thing that will really make a person fly off the handle is someone unloading their work on them. Everyone should do their own work and unless truly busy, should not dump it on some else. This will definitely make a person angry enough to scream.
