The Caribbean Island that is Pure Paradise

Why wait until the summer to hit the beaches, escape to Antigua where you can dig your toes into the sand right now.  This island has 365 different beaches, one for every day of the year. The climate is always sunny, the sea is a beautiful turquoise color and the sands are soft white.

There is, of course, more to the island than just its beautiful beaches. It is known for its people; they are amongst the friendliest in the world and always offer a warm welcome to the visitors.  Antigua is member of the British Commonwealth.

You will discover history rich towns and enjoy afternoon tea, left side of the road driving, cricket matches and acting. Vacationers will also enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, sailing and many other water activities available to all. You can also enjoy land activities such as horse back riding on the beaches, golfing or tours of the rainforest. You can do it all in Antigua, shopping, swimming, sunbathing and sightseeing. You will fall in love with this island and will definitely come back every chance you get.

SHIRLEY HEIGHTS

Plan a trip to Shirley Heights during the afternoon.  This bluff is above the English Harbour, a former military site.  Now it’s a site of a weekly party where you can listen to reggae bands, dance and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

FIG TREE DRIVE

While in Antigua, take a picturesque drive past lush forests.  You will pass by fig, mango, guava and coconut palm trees.  While there, if you like adventure, do a zipline tour of the rainforest canopy.

HALF MOON BAY

The sand is a pink hued and has two parts to it.  Its wilder side attracts windsurfers and it’s more tranquil side attracts snorkerlers.

INDIAN TOWN NATIONAL PARK

This park is facing the ocean and its home to Devil’s Bridge.  It’s a large natural limestone arch.  Near this location you can also visit the first sugar plantation.

ST. JOHN’S

Visit the cathedral of St. John the Divine, check out the shops, visit the museums and enjoy the culture and rich history of Antigua.

BARBUDA

Not far from Antigua, a 26 mile trip to the north, visit the island of Barbuda.  While there go snorkeling, tour the Frigate Bird Sanctuary and do some kayaking through the mangrove lagoons.
