Best Beverages to Drink

There is a large variety of beverages to quench your thirst. You have a variety of soft drinks, diet drinks, juices, teas, powdered drinks, energy drinks, etc.

To make things worst there are commercials, articles, programs that state too much of one is bad for you, if you want a soft drink make sure it’s a diet drink.

We have been told to watch what we eat. We haven’t quite gotten the hang of that, now we have to worry about high fructose syrup in our beverages. That combined with sugar is an atomic bomb.

Even those state they are organic or healthy have high fructose syrup in the ingredients. There are the drinks with artifical sweeteners, are those really any good? You would think 0 calories, no fat, that has to be good for you but what you're forgetting are the other ingredients, such as carbs, caffeine, etc.

So what should you drink, what is truly healthy for you and your family? Don’t worry, all hope is not lost. I am sure when you hear the words healthy beverages, they probably have no taste, that is not the case. You will be able to make the adjustment. There are beverages for everyone to drink and stay healthy. They even suggest one healthy alcohol drink for the adults so it’s not just talk.

WATER

Yes, this is the best beverage around. It seems that we just don’t want to understand how crucial water is for our bodies. We have to remember that our body is mostly made up of water and it has to be kept hydrated. Water improves digestion, reduces headaches, helps us in our quest to lose weight, etc.

MILK

No matter how many new drinks there are out there promoting healthy bones, etc the best all around drink is milk. It is vital to help prevent arthritis and osteoporosis. The calcium in milk makes our teeth, bones and joints stronger. Many do not like milk because of an after taste. Try organic milk. It has a longer shelf life and it has a softer, smoother, fresh taste. The funny taste you find in regular milk is the antibiotics given to the cows.

GREEN TEA

Chinese have enjoyed this tea for thousands of years. It is an antioxidant that helps clean out your system. Here is something many do not know, there was a study done that showed, green tea actually lowers the risk of esophageal cancer. Also, it has been said, that if the person has cancer, it can actually slow down the growth of a malignant tumor. This is definitely a good reason to drink more green tea.

WINE

An occasional glass of wine does have its health benefits. One of them is that it actually helps reduce SMC which is a promoter of atherosclerosis in the arteries. Basically, what this means is that it helps you have a healthy heart, preventing strokes or heart attacks. Now don’t go out there and start binging on wine, it is one glass and occasionally.

CRANBERRY JUICE

This juice is one that you should not feel guilty if you drink it all the time. One of its biggest fortifying properties is that it helps prevent both urinary and respiratory infections. It is known to help stop bacteria from sticking to red blood cells.

ORANGE JUICE

Packed with vitamin C, minerals, boosts your immune system to prevent colds and stomach bugs. It has also come to light that it helps with preventing cancer. When choosing an orange juice, make sure it is not from concentrate and it’s natural as possible. Best orange juice is freshly squeezed. It has its own natural sugars, none added as there are in some store bought brands.

LEMONADE

Everyone loves to drink a nice cold glass of lemonade. Now don’t run into the store and quickly purchase every type of lemonade you find. The only lemonade that is good from you is made from freshly squeezed lemons. It doesn't have any type of sugars, carbs or calories. Avoid all powdered or store brand, they are usually packed with artifical sweeteners, sugars, high fructose syrup and preservatives.

There is one thing everyone should buy; it’s a little pricey but worth the money, a juicer. With a juicer you can combine all types of fruits and vegetables to make healthy beverages for you and the family. Everything in the juices that you make is natural, no sweeteners, sugar, preservatives or chemicals. Think about it, wouldn’t you love to just drink a nice fresh glass of orange juice? By doing this, you are able to add more beverages to your list and keep healthy.

Drinking freshly squeezed juices boost your immune system. They provide vitamins and minerals that our bodies are lacking. Once you have a glass of juice without all those chemicals, all other juices will just not please you and you will find that they taste horrible. It is for your own good after all.
