At least 40 to 50 million Americans suffer from allergies that are related to Pollen. Each year the number of people who suffer from allergies increases.
Worst time of the year is spring when the flowers begin to bloom and the temperature gets warmer. During spring you have to deal with mold, dust mites, tree and grass pollen.
There is no way to get away from this, unless you enclose yourself in a bubble room and that is not about to happen.
What you end up doing is purchasing every type of allergy medication you can find over the counter. In some cases, it isn’t enough, so you head to the doctors office. At least 17 million of the office visits will be due to allergy problems.
Of course, many of us are concerned of the side effects that come along with all these medications and try to deal with our allergies without them. The good thing is that you don’t have to do this anymore. Here are a few simple and natural ways to alleviate and get rid of your allergies.
NETI POT
A good way to clear out pollen from your nasal passages is by using a Neti pot. You can find these at a nearby pharmacy and they are easy to use. It’s true it can be kind of nasty but it’s a lot better than having a runny nose and watery eyes all day long. Many have said that by using this, it has reduced and/or eliminated their allergy problem.
FOLIC ACID
Add more folic acid to your diet. It has been proven that those that have higher level of folic acid suffer less from their allergies. It regulates their immune system, allowing it to respond better to allergens.
EXERCISE
If you exercise in the early morning hours, you should change your scheduled and start exercising in the evening. During the morning and early afternoon, that is when the most pollen is released.
KISSING
Here is a good excuse to pucker up and kiss your sweetie for as long as you want or at least 30 minutes. According to a recent study, thirty minutes of kissing can provide relief from hay fever.
SHOES
If you can, leave your shoes outside or at the front entrance. If you do this, you will track in less pollen, mold and other allergens into your home.
SPICY
A good way to clear up those sinuses and get rid of that stuffy nose is to spice up your food. Add a little cayenne pepper, chili powder or jalapeño peppers. They will cause your nose to run and get rid of the allergens. These act as natural anti-inflammatory so get ready to spice up your life.
