How to Boost Your Health

Nowadays we do everything we can to make sure we feel our very best.  At times we spend lots of money on special diets, gym memberships or exorbitant amounts of money at the health food store. Everyone is trying to get healthy, live longer, enjoy life and avoid getting ill.

That is not necessary anymore. Researchers are constantly, hard at work, trying to find easy ways that are more cost efficient and natural for us to keep ourselves healthy. Every time we turn on the television, there are infomercials on the best gym equipment you can buy.

It’s a good price, so good you are paying for it for years and don't even use them. Others are about these perfect diets that help you get rid of the toxins in your body. What we forget is that these foods also have chemicals to preserve them.  Doesn’t this make you wonder how healthy are they?  Are they really good for you? All these products they say are good for us really aren't.

Some of these foods have extreme amounts of sodium, carbs, sugars that you aren't even aware of. Well, that is not necessary.  Researchers have put a simple list out there that shows you simple steps on how to stay and become healthy. Here’s how:

BLOOD PRESSURE

Many of us have to watch the news, find out what is going on in our world.  New research has found that watching the news can actually elevate your blood pressure by raising your heartbeat.  With all that is going on around us, we are stressed as is, why watch the news.  To keep your blood pressure normal, instead of watching the news on television, just skim the headlines on the internet.  By doing this, you can skip those articles that can cause you stress.

You are sound asleep and nothing bothers you, or so you think.  Researchers have found that even though you are asleep, certain noises like a car alarm, a dog barking, snoring or any type of loud noise can elevate your blood pressure.  Now mind you, this is while you are still asleep, you may not even wake up when you hear these noises.  Researchers say that to improve your sleep, block out the noise by simply using earplugs.

AVOID CANCER

Every day you hear of someone you know, whether it’s a friend, a family member or someone you know, talk about a cancer scare.  We hope we never have to hear those words come out of our doctor’s mouth.  We are willing to do anything to avoid this.  We are always looking for those how to avoid tips.  Well a new study has come up with two new ways to avoid cancer.

How many of us love fries with ketchup?  Well studies show that organic ketchup has three times more of the fighting disease lycopene than the regular kind.  Lycopene helps prevent cell damage.  It can prevent wrinkles, heart problems and cataracts.  Women are five time less likely to get cervical cancer if they get the most they can from this nutrient.

Sauerkraut, which contains hormone regulating compounds that lower the risk of breast cancer and other estrogen related cancers, is another aid in avoiding cancer.  Researchers made this discovery after noticing how polish women that enjoyed sauerkraut every day, had lowered the risk of breast cancer by 40%.  You can find this at any supermarket; try adding it to your meals.  If you don’t like hot dogs, you can always add them to your pork chops

DIABETES

Walking upstairs is a good exercise; helps you burn calories but did you know walking downstairs is actually even better?  Researchers had a group of volunteers hike up the mountains and thought that when they would check their blood sugar levels they would be at their lowest.  But to their surprise, when they walked down the hill and checked their blood sugar levels again, it was dramatically lower then when they were first tested.  They believe it has to do with how the muscles move as they walk downhill.  So for those that don’t like climbing the stairs because you get winded, take them going down.  It’s a lot easier but even more beneficial to your health.

A simple thing as flossing your teeth can help prevent diabetes.  Gum disease and inflammation flood the bloodstream with a compound called tumor necrosis factor.  This interferes with the body’s ability to absorb blood sugar.  Not only can this help you avoid diabetes but if you suffer from it, it can help you treat it.  When people who suffer from type 2 diabetes had a dental cleaning, their blood sugar levels dropped 20%.

DETOXIFY

When you go to a restaurant, one of the garnishes on your food is parsley.  Most of us will just brush it to the side.  Well, from now on, make sure you eat that all up.  Parsley contains three times more vitamin C then an orange and twice as much as spinach.  Researchers have found that it also helps neutralize toxins absorbed by the body; this is especially good for those that smoke cigarettes.  They suggest you try to eat at least two tablespoons a few times a week.  Just this simple tip can help your body feel so much better.

You have had a tough day, you’re exhausted and all you think about is taking a quick shower, just so that you can feel better.  Well researchers have found that if you take a bath, add some Epsom salt to it, this will help release chemical toxins, heavy metals and pollutants from your body.  This is released through your pores.  So by taking a nice 15 minute bath, you have been able to relax and get rid of that stress but you have also been able to get rid of those toxins.  When you come out of the bath, you are ready to keep going and when it’s time for bed, you will go right to sleep without any problems.
