Remember as a kid, how you use to love to go outside and play? It was fun; you came up with crazy ideas and kept yourself entertained with your friends.
Well, it’s time to get our kids excited about playing outside. They need the exercise and the fresh air.
Going outside to play helps them with their imagination; they come up with all sorts of games. It’s also a great way to get them make new friends and share with them. There is so much for them to do. Plus it gives them something to do during the summertime when school is out.
Gardening
Kids love to play with dirt, we all know that. It’s fun to them. When they see adults outside gardening, they always ask what they are doing and if they can help. Get small gardening tools for them, start small and teach them. Maybe make a little space out there for them to garden. Give them fun stuff to plants, Sunflowers, tomato plants and colorful flowers.
Outdoor Games
Have the kids invite friends over and get them to play outdoor games such as tag, hide and go seek, egg toss, etc. Each day they can play a different one, there are so many to choose from.
Pool Party
Keeping cool during the hot summer days is a plus and what better way to do this then spending a day in the pool? They can swim all they want and there are water games they can play such as “Marco Polo”. Plus they can learn to snorkel in the pool.
Star Gazing
Night time is not the only time they can have fun outside. Why let it end as soon as the sun goes down. Get them interested in the night sky. They can learn about the planets, the stars and the Milky Way. If possible, get them a telescope or simple binoculars. It’s a nice way to spend the evening, maybe get a few of their friends to sleep over and make it a group activity.
Photograph Nature
Kids loves to play with cameras and most of them have their own now. Give them the idea of going outside and photographing things they feel are interesting. This will occupy their time, allowing them to get more into nature.
Sports
It’s rare to see a child that doesn’t like some type of sport. Encourage them to play sports, such as kickball, basketball, volleyball or badminton. This can be fun for them plus they will get plenty of exercise. This helps them build up speed and agility.
Sprinklers
It’s as simple as that, turn on the sprinklers and let them go crazy for a while. They will love it, just running in and out of the water. You can sit and watch them have fun.
