You get the right amount of sleep, take you daily vitamin and eat right yet you still feel tired. You wonder why especially since you are doing everything that you should be doing. What is happening is that our daily habits are robbing us of our energy.
No matter how much rest we get, how well we eat or what supplements we take, it’s just not enough. Have you ever taken a step back to see exactly what you do throughout the day? You rush to work, always trying to meet a deadline at work, have to run errands, maybe pick up the kids, run to the cleaners, etc.
Even on the weekends you still don’t have enough time. No wonder you are always tired. Well experts have found a way to help you power up throughout the day, feel more energized.
Lighten the load
One thing that can cause you to tire out quickly is the load you are carrying. This would be handbags, laptop bags, backpacks, etc. Carrying this on your shoulder for over an hour can cutoff circulation and decreases the blood flow causing you to feel tired. Lighten the load, carry only what you really need and switch shoulders. Avoid feeling aches and pains which will sap your energy.
Stand up
Sitting down when you are tired for a few minutes is great but after you sit there for a long time you actually become more tired. Those that work in the office notice it, you start feeling lethargic. Best thing to do is get up, stand up and walk around at least a few minutes every hour. You will feel a burst of energy and help you wake up.
Fruits and nuts
While at work we try to avoid junk food and eat healthy foods such as fruits. Well fruits on their own will spike your blood sugar and a couple of hours later you start to crash, just as if you had eaten a candy bar. Don’t stop eating the fruits just pair it up with protein, such as cheese or nuts. The protein takes a little longer to digest allowing the sugar levels to remain level.
Water
When you feel tired, you can’t focus. This can make you feel exhausted and cause you to feel achy. Best thing to do is drink water throughout the day. Water helps your brain block out distractions and perks you right up. Keep a glass or bottle of water next to you and drink sips throughout the day.
Iron
IF you are feeling tired too often then there could be a bigger problem, you might be anemic. A daily dose of an iron supplement can do the trick. You will start to notice you are more alert and more energetic. Another way to load up on iron is by eating foods such as shrimp, tuna, beef and certain cereals. A quick pick me up is a glass of orange juice.
Pictures / Flowers
Sitting in an office or cubicle with blank walls and no color can depress anyone. This can make you feel tired. Best thing to do, try to have flowers in your cubicle or office and pictures. Researchers say that gazing at either flowers or pictures can give a person a boost of energy and eliminate fatigue.
