Romantic Anniversary Getaways

Whether the couple is married or living together, the majority of them don’t celebrate their anniversaries.

For those that do celebrate their anniversary, it involves a dinner and hopefully a special gift. However, one of the best ways to celebrate this special occasion is to go on a trip together, somewhere romantic.

The purpose of this trip is to give the couple the opportunity to reconnect and rekindle that passion that brought them together. This is a time for just the two of them, no children or family to distract them.

It’s true, not everyone can just pay for a trip every year, some feel they can’t afford it.  But we can afford it, what we need to do is set money aside every year in order to make this annual trip.  Every week put aside $25 or $50 in a special savings account.  Every so often do a yard sale and put that money towards your trips.  Many of us earn money on the side, take part of that and put it in our savings.  When it’s time to start planning our anniversary trip, we will be surprised as to how much we have saved.  Remember, nothing is impossible; we can achieve what we desire.

Now, even after saving enough money to make the trip, the couple just can’t go away for a week, plan for a long weekend.  Just make sure it’s a romantic trip, request a room with a special view.  Have champagne and flowers waiting in the room.  Consider having a nice dinner in an exclusive restaurant during your getaway.  At that point start talking about where you would like to go the following year, always bigger and better.  Every time the couple comes back home from this getaway, they are closer and more in love.  Here are some other suggestions for a romantic anniversary getaway:

  •  Plan a cruise, you can choose a trip for three days to 14 days.  There are different destinations; you don’t have to worry about food, rooms, transportation, etc.  The evenings are extremely romantic.
  • A trip to Disney World Florida is a good way to have tons of fun, giving the couple a chance to feel as they did when they first met.
  • New York City is another good idea.  The couple can make each night special, special dinner, theatre and dancing.  This is the city that never sleeps.
  • Las Vegas offers the couple the opportunity to go wild.  There is gambling, drinking, shows, sightseeing, etc.  The resorts are extravagant and so is the food.
  • For the best romantic beaches there is Hawaii.  The sunsets are incredible, the islands are mesmerizing and the memories are incredible.
  • For a special trip, maybe 10th anniversary visit France, the host of one of the most romantic cities, Paris.  The city of love.

These are only a few of the places a couple can travel to.  The world is at their disposal and they can go anywhere their heart desires.  Keep in mind that no matter where the couple decides to travel to, it has to be for the two of them.  There should be plenty of things for them to enjoy.  Since it’s an anniversary, consider contacting a travel agent and see what types of romantic getaway packages are available.

Try to outdo yourselves every year by making it even more special.  Here’s an idea, pick one place, it should be exotic, extravagant and definitely a true adventure for both.  This should be something that is not in the budget.  Start saving for it now and schedule it for your 5th, 10th or 20th anniversary.  This will be the trip of a lifetime and one both will look forward to.  An anniversary is a special day for both; it’s the day both vowed to spend the rest of their lives with each other.  So commemorate these vows and this special day by celebrating it in a special way every year.
