Simple Ways to Lose Weight and Stay Fit

Eating right and avoiding fatty and sugary foods will help us lose weight and stay fit. In addition to that, we also need to exercise and that is where most of us fail. We don’t want to go the gym because it costs too much and 90% of them require that you sign a contract. Another problem is we get bored doing the same routines over and over again so we give up.

Then there is the issue that we just don’t have enough time. As you can see, the excuses can pile on and the list can get much longer. We have to put a stop to this; we need to see the big picture, our health.

Ask yourself this question, do you want to live a healthy long life? No doubt the answer is yes. Then we must find a way to achieve this goal. No matter what is going on, you should always make time for yourself. Remember, if your health fails then you can’t do anything at all.

It’s time to get rid of the excuses, focus on our goal of losing weight and staying healthy. This should be a good motivator for you and if not, then do it for your loved ones. Here are a few simple ways to exercise and stay fit

WALKING

Simply walk 30 to 60 minutes a day, even if it’s at a slow pace.  The point is your moving and the heart is pumping.  Just by doing this you can lower your risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, cancer, osteoarthritis and sleep apnea.  You should do this at least 4 times a week.  In no time you will feel the difference.

BICYCLING

A stationary bike is good but after a while we find it boring.  Instead go bicycling around the neighborhood or a nearby park.  A few times a week will do the trick.

DANCING

A good way to lose weight, stay fit and have fun while doing this is dancing.  While your home, put on your favorite music, get up and dance.  Do this by your self or get your children involved, make it a fun activity.  30 minutes of dancing is like 30 minutes of aerobics.

DVD’s

Get a few DVD’s; they range from $12 to $22.  You can purchase a few with different types of exercises and each day play a different one.  There are DVD’s that the exercise is simply learning new dance steps and at the same time getting a good workout.  This way you have a variety and won’t get bored.

VIDEO GAMES

There are interactive games are available in both Play Station and Wii.  These get you moving instead of sitting on the sofa.  They have games like tennis, golf, boxing, dancing, etc.  They are fun and you won’t consider them exercising but they do make you breakout in a sweat.
