Whether we like it or not, we all have to get old. However, we don’t like the idea and can’t seem to age old gracefully. Every time we look in the mirror we criticize ourselves.
We look for gray hairs, wrinkles, sagging skin, etc. It horrifies us and we just won’t and can’t accept it.
We purchase all types of creams to reduce or reverse the signs of aging. We get Botox injections and if that doesn’t work, plastic surgery is the next step. We want do all we can to reverse time and be 25 again.
But, as you can see, we are only concern with our appearance, what about our health. This is what we should concern ourselves with; this is where the aging process really starts. If we dedicated as much time to our physical health as we do our appearance, we would look younger longer. To look young, we have to feel young and healthy. What is the use of looking 25 if physically we feel 75? We need to start eating right, taking vitamins, exercising and trying to live as stress free as possible.
Think of it this way, if you are 40, wouldn’t it be great that yes you are 40 but physically you are 20? Here are a few facts that can help you out.
FACIAL CREAMS
No matter the cost of a facial cream, they all have the same effects and they are fleeting. You have to use them constantly to get any type of results. Instead, what you can do to keep your face looking young is to moisturize daily, use sunscreen and when out in the sun, use a wide brim hat to protect your face. If you want to prevent wrinkles, sleep on your back. Sleeping on your side or stomach, persistently pressing your face will cause trauma to the skin.
MEMORY LOSS
We associate memory loss to aging, not true. Studies found that lack of physical activity will increase your memory loss. They advise that you exercise at least 4 hours a week; this will decrease the risk of losing your memory. Also, keep your mind engaged, read more, do a few crossword puzzles and that will keep your mind sharp.
SEX
Many believe that when you get older, you lose your sex drive. Studies found that this is not due to old age instead it is due to lack of health, both physical and mental, and fulfillment in the relationship. To get yourself in the mood, increase your sexual activity. As odd as it may sound it’s true, this will increase the production of testosterone. This is the hormone that is responsible for the sex drive in both men and women.
SKIN
Water is very important for the body, it keeps it hydrated but you don’t have to drink 10 glasses to keep your skin looking younger. The quantity of water you should drink varies from person to person. You also have to take into consideration the climate you live in, your diet, salt intake and exercise habits. To make sure you are hydrated, notice the color of your urine. If it is light or pale color you are well hydrated.
