Visit North Carolina for its southern charm

North Carolina has a lot to offer vacationers, beautiful beaches, the mountains and the scenery.  Experience the southern charm and enjoy its hospitality.  While in North Carolina, visit the many historical sites they have, such as the Civil War battlegrounds, their museums and plantations.  During the summer visit the beaches found along the Outer Banks, such as Cape Hatteras and Cape Fear.

Also along the coast, visit Carolina Beach State Park.  The state park has a 5 mile hiking trail where they can enjoy the scenery and go exploring.  Swimming is not allowed at the beach but you are able to enjoy the view and it’s free.

A popular spot is the Blue Ridge Parkway, a 469 mile gateway into their rich culture which includes Cherokee traditions.  Visitors can go hiking, bicycling, camping, white water rafting, fishing, swimming and so much more.  Lodging won’t be a problem in this area; there are RV camps, bed and breakfasts, cabins, cottages, resorts, ranches.  During the winter time, many go skiing at Grandfather Mountain and stay at the Snow Ski resorts in that area.

Of course, we can’t leave out the fact that North Carolina is also popular for its golf courses.  They have over a 100 golf clubs in the state.  One famous golf course is the Pinehurst.  This is a golfer’s haven, because no matter where they are, there is a golf course nearby.  For those who do don't enjoy golf or wish to do something else, how about visiting the new wineries.  These wineries overlook the pine forests which surrounds them.  Just imagine, sipping a nice glass of wine, while enjoying the view.

There are also the amusement and theme parks they offer, such as Carowinds where you can enjoy the roller coaster rides.  Don’t forget to visit the Waterparks, Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park and Wet n’ Wild Emerald Pointe.    Stop by the North Carolina Zoo or the Cherokee Bear Zoo.  So far, if you are planning to visit North Carolina, you know there is a lot to do and you will have lots of fun.

Most popular city is Charlotte, well known for its towering skyline, new hotels, landmarks and entertainment.  It combines the new with the Southern hospitality and it has become a year round favorite tourism destination.  The dining experience is incredible.  Tourist can enjoy meals in fine gourmet French restaurants or enjoy southern classic cuisine.

It is the largest and most accessible city between Atlanta and Washington D.C. so if you enjoy shopping, then this is the place for you.  Charlotte has high end boutiques with all the latest fashions and home décor.  You will find every label available in these shops such as Narciso Rodriguez and Michael Kors.  Now, this may be hard to believe, but this is one of the reasons why many make travel plans to Charlotte.  As we all know, shopping is good to help you relax of course a bit hard on the pocket.

Sometimes driving can take away from a trip.  However, while in Charlotte, you don’t have to drive around if you don’t want to.  You can always hop on the Trolley, Light Rail or the Bus.  They also have bicycle and Segway rentals and just like any other city, plenty of taxis.

The only bad thing about visiting North Carolina is not having more time to enjoy everything.  A week is just not enough but good enough.  So when planning your trip, decide what you want to do.  If it’s a trip for two, it can be a romantic getaway.  If it’s for a family, it can be adventurous and lots of fun.  This state has so much to offer to all those that visit.  It is beautiful, charming and a memorable place to visit.  So start planning your trip and get ready to have fun.
