It’s time to be a smart shopper, especially since the economy still hasn’t gained any momentum. There was a time we would just walk in and purchase the item we wanted anywhere without giving it too much thought. The only research we may have done is look in the Sunday newspaper.
Probably looked through a few flyers and decided that was the best price. We just didn’t put too much thought into our purchases. Things are different now because the economy is in a slump and we have to watch every dollar we spend.
Now we check every flyer we can find. We compare prices, check the store’s online and sometimes wait a few weeks before actually purchase a big ticket item. However, we don’t do the same for smaller ticket items. This is the time to retrain ourselves in finding those sales for all things we want or use. This way when the economy is up and running again, we can still save money and continue being smart shoppers. You can find the best prices in places you wouldn’t think to check.

Whenever we take pictures, we want to make sure that when they are printed they are perfect. We think that by going to a specialty store or a fancy camera shop, we will get the best quality. Well you can also go to Wal-Mart. You will get the same quality pictures as you would at a specialty store, online or drug store. Not only will you get good quality pictures but at a great price.
FLOWERS
One item that is very popular for these special events is flowers. We purchase them for special days, such as Valentine’s Day, birthdays, Mother’s day and Easter. We go online and purchase them through one of the national companies but here is an even better idea. Instead of going to these sites, do a little research and find a florist in the area where the recipient lives. This will help you save a few dollars and they arrive in better condition and will most likely last longer.
ELECTRONICS
Researchers show that less than 20% of us purchase electronics online. We just don’t feel confident about purchasing online. However, the cost of electronics is less expensive if bought online and a better selection. Best sites are Amazon, BHPhotoVideo and BuyDig. Another plus to this is you don’t have to worry about picking the item up or having to carry it in and some offer free shipping.
PRESCRIPTIONS
We all eventually purchase some type of prescription and they can be very pricey. If you want to save a few dollars, visit Costco. They are the one with the cheapest prices for prescriptions. You don’t have to be a member to visit their pharmacy so you don’t have to worry about a membership fee if all you want to do is purchase your medication there.
MILK
Running late and don’t want to go to the grocery? Then head to the gas station. Most of the local gas stations sell dairy products and cheaper than the grocery stores. They do this to bring you in and while you are there, you fill up the tank. Also since it’s a small store they want to sell their perishables before they expire.
